What does the visit consist of?
This visit consists of a two-hour guided tour of a very specific area of the Albaicin. The itinerary is designed to show the evolution of the neighborhood and to this end we will visit the interior of some private homes.
What do we propose on this visit?
In this tour we will show you what the Carmen is, the typical house of Granada. In addition to viewpoints and private gardens.
During the visit you will learn about the urban and cultural development of the neighbourhood, also you will learn more about the coexistence of these humble houses with attached gardens next to majestic Renaissance palaces. Thus, you will experience on the one hand the life inside rich palaces overlooking the River Darro and the Alhambra, and on the other hand, the peace and harmony of hidden gardens that tried to imitate paradise.
This walk is complementary to the standard visits to the Albaicin. This visit includes spaces and places that are not usually visited in the conventional tourist circuit. Undoubtedly, a unique way to rediscover, live and travel through the magic of its interiors.
What will you visit?
The journey is between Plaza Nueva and Cuesta del Chapiz, where we will walk parallel to the Darro River and Paseo de los Tristes. While strolling, we will access palaces such as the Nazarí Capital, Los Pineda and the old Santa Inés Convent. We will also see where one of the few sheds still standing in the city is located. We will climb the tower from the Zirí period, ending at the Carmen de los Patos.
